is the rock still in the bucket, Reefmonkey?
what type of bucket is it?

seriously though, looks like a great score to me, and the work/ effort you need to put in to make it suitable for your purpose, will also be fun

Yeah it's still in the waste bucket, that's what I hauled it in. It's not in any water so will definitely be "dead" by the time I use it.

It's seriously not rock at all but literally all of the skeletons of every sps and lps he killed during his career as a reefer. There's one brain that must have been fairly impressive in life, it's nearly the size of an orange. A bunch of other branching and plating, some euphy skellies, etc. etc.

I look forward to the challenge of getting this build up to my expectations. I like to build :)

Can't really tell from the pic but from top right corner down:

    Real "rock"

Fungia skellie, two good size plates (probably monti's) that had just encrusted the plug and began to take some shape, some type of encrusting sps still on the plug

A mix of Euphy, CandyCane and Favid skellies w/ three acro's to the right

There's more in the can than what I put into the tote but it was all repeats of what was already in there.

I saw the two monti caps in a RSM 30, and possibly the birdnest you can see in the top pic if you look hard. It's almost dead center of the huge pile of rock. The rest of his coral is in the waste bucket in my garage. ROFL

I've been working in the evening all week and have managed to take quite a bit of the small scratches out of the glass. I could get the deeper scratches out with a power buffer but I'm out of compound now anyway.
Work begins on the sump tomorrow. I bought the glass today and cut the baffles this evening. We're going to use a 40B for the sump. I like big fuges, the wife doesn't want any flooding. Both problems solved. The tank I have has already been drilled for an overflow so it will be kind of funky with the drain line coming in through the glass.

As I've stated I'll be using a 40B for the sump on this build. Getting to it right after lunch. I'll post pics of the job later but heres a paint of the basic layout I'll be using for this sump.

Of course it's not to scale and the skimmer area will be larger than the return. I'm not a fan of bubble traps, I think they are a waste of usable space but in this case it's a form of one is necessary because I want a passive flow area for carbon.

After a frustrating afternoon/evening I finally got the baffles in the sump. First the tape didn't want to stick to the glass. Humidity? IDK. Then I find the only caulk I had was set on the nozzle end so I had to cut the tube and apply with my fingers. Ended up being short on silicone quite a bit but luckily the only hardware store in town had some DAP 100%. It was spendy but got the job done. So here it is, the absolute ugliest silicone job I have ever done and all, my 40B sump..

Used a UniSeal instead of a standard bulk head. I may start using these for any future builds. They are simple and cost way less.
