Just ordered a quick crew from John and then turned around and ordered some crabs from sealifeinc.net.

The two urchins just aren't keeping up with the nasty brown diatom bloom currently going on. LOL Starting to get hair algae on the glass too.

Added a bit of a crew from reefcleaners today. Thought I'd play with the new camera a bit and put some pics up.

The pencils are not unique and kind of boring but they don't decorate. I had a long spine that would use anything it could get to stick as camo. It was a PITA.

haha. The longspines are my favorite (as far as looks). But they get pretty big anyway.

Do all urchins munch on coralline algae?

You are learning well with camera, good job. I think all urchins eat coralline algae.

Yeah they do but it's not a bad thing if you like it. They can't digest all that they eat so "naturally" help spread it around. ;D

Thanks John. I've been trying to remember what the product made to aid in macro shots is called. It's a lens similar to the coral viewer but has 3 thumb screws to hold it over the camera lens tube. I've been driving myself nuts trying to find it again.

Wish I could help on that Mike. Sounds like a great tool.

I am 95% sure I saw it here...or maybe it was at MACNA. LOL getting older stinks. I can vividly remember events from when I was 5 years old but will forget the name of someone new I meet 5 minutes into a conversation with them. ;D

    BTW...

I got a horseshoe crab on a whim. My wife acclimated and added it. She said it swam around a bit and then buried itself. Haven't seen it since. That was 3 days ago. I tried enticing it out with some chopped clam but nothing. Maybe it died?
