IMO the clown will be slightly to large/active once an adult, some other fish to look at are some small species of blenny and hundreds of tiny gobies

Possible, I took that into serious consideration. I've had clowns previously in my 120 and my 55 so I understand how they can get. I have strong flow in this tank and am not adding anymore fish, I was thinking about removing the piece of tonga rock on top to provide more space. At this time he looks happy, only time will tell. Worst case will be I have to setup my 30 as a FOWLR. I have all the equipment and rock for it, just trying to experiment with nano.

    updated pics

I went to check on my tank this morning and saw these white specks on the glass. Turns out they're nassarius eggs. One of the nassarius' has been stationary on the spot in the pic for the past few hours. It looks like it's laying more eggs. The zoa polyps are open and also a pic of the GSP finally starting to open. Couldn't get a clear shot of the clown but he's doing great!

    3 month update

Just thought I'd share an update. I thought I had an outbreak of worms or something the other day... Now I'm pretty certain they're just amphipods. I included some pics of them (blurry but the best I could get with iphone). I was wondering if I should be concerned because they appear to be growing in force lol. I assume once their food source diminishes the population will die off. I'm unable to add a mandarin or anything like that due to the small tank size and the fact that I don't want my clown to feel more confined.

and a FTS even though the coral frags still aren't that big...

Looks like amphipods to me. They can bother some corals, so just keep an eye out there. Otherwise, maybe at some point your clown will see them as food.

You are correct! They aren't affecting my coral at all but my clown has been hunting for and eating them regularly. Glad to see the tank balanced, can't wait to add more coral and fire cleaner!
