Can an 8 gallon biocube handle an anemone? The tank has been running for about 6 months now (I can wait longer if necessary). It has a very low bio load (1 Turbo Snail, 1 Blue Legged Hermit). I am concerned because I have not been able to find any information on putting a skimmer on one of these and I recall hearing that it is essential for anemones.

I perform 10% water changes weekly and all measurement are at 0.

    Thanks!

I would think it would be very difficult at best to put an anemone in there. A rock anemone might be your best bet. You might need to mod the hood to get a skimmer in there. Check the biocube web site to see if they have something available. I would also check nano tank sites to see what people have done for skimmers.

You could get a standard tank and use as a sump for the biocube and put a skimmer in there.

Maybe it would be better as a mantis tank :)

I'm not going to say an 8 gal couldn't handle an anemone, but it would be very difficult. Anemones require very stable water parameters which is hard to get with a nano.

An 8 gal would make a great mantis tank for a N. wennerae or similar species.
