those guys look pretty big in comaprison to the adults. I know one of the hippocampus husbandry requriements is serpation for the adult tdue to possible canablization. You think there is much of a danger in the dwarf speices (I misspelled 7 words....) fail

No danger that I'm aware of. They are supposedly the easiest ponies to rear.

    wow that looks awesome

i hear that its not the best to have mangroves planted in the sand because the roots can break the silicone seal. not sure if this is for real or one of those tall tales. might be something to look into

Thanks on the mangroves. I ended up moving them higher in the tank so the tips are out of the water.

The largest concern on the dwarfs is feeding... From what I have read, the adults don't eat the fry. These are considerably larger than most fry that I have seen. I counted 37 - but I am sure I missed some.

oh yeah i was surprised when i saw how big they were compared to the adults! In my seahorse farm i had two grow out tanks to separate fry by size so that wouldn't happen, though i was going to raise Redii and they are substantially bigger! PS i never got it going but did get the tanks and research done lol

The main reason I remove my reidi fry for rearing is that the filters in the main tank will get them all.
Also, trying to feed them and keep them protozoan free would be difficult in a large tank.
I actually use a dozen 4L jars for rearing them.
I don't have dwarf seahorses yet but I understand the fry are larger than those of the reidi when born.
