So far here is what I have found:

80w t5 Actinic Plus Giesemann Powerchrome Bulb 60in
80w t5 aquablue plus 11k giesemann powerchrome bulb 60 in
    80w t5 midday 6000k giesemann powerchrome bulb 60 in
80w t5 pure actinic giesemann powerchrome bulb 60 in

    Korallen-zucht t5 fiji purple special red/blue 80w
    Korallen-zucht t5 new generation 14k 80w

Any combination of these bulbs or any others that anyone can recommend that will give me the best color/growth. I would prefer a more tint of blue rather than white. This is on a 8x80 bulb setup. Thanks light experts

4 UVL super actinic 420nm's, with 4 UVL 14000K's. Will give you a nice overall lighting with a touch of blue, and the UVL's are the best T5 bulb out there right now, hands down. :)

Yeah, I didn't see that they didn't have them out to that size.
I have never run any of those bulbs personally, but I hear great things from the Giesemann's. If you want a blue tint I would stick with 2X 420nm's and 2X 14000K's.

Yup, Giesemann does rock. Ya know....I would PM Tangster and see what he would do also. When the time comes I am going ask him about color combinations that will both suit my likes as well as maximize coral propagation. I do like Pack's suggestion. It is very basic, lends itself to the blue side and IMO would look great. But you might be able to do a little more fine tuning with additional kelvin ratings and whatnot. This will be an interesting thread to follow. I am curious. Soon, I will be in the same boat you are. Picking out colors.

On my 8X80 I have 2 Giesemann 6000k, three each of the Giesemann Aquablue+ and Actinic+... I am thinking about swapping a 6000k for a Aquablue+ though, as when all the lights are on it is whiter than I wanted, BUT sometimes its all about PAR!! :-D

I would do a combination of either ATI or Giesemann bulbs Focus on the Aquablue+ and the Actinic+/Blue+ depending on who you get. If you want more blue you might want to skip the 6000k and do either 4:4 blue/white or 5:3 white/blue... depending on how blue you really want it..... The ATI bulbs will fetch you a little more PAR but aren't as commonly sold as the Giesemann's.

    What are you running now?
I am pleased that with my set up I am running 270uMol/m2/sec dead center on the sand bed.... Thats my proof that T5 can and WILL light a 24" tank and STILL grow SPS on the sand bed for LESS watts EVEN!!

    Happy lighting!

Right now I am running 4 10k/ 4 420/460 combo cheap bulbs. They are on the workhorse ballasts with ind reflectors. I am picking up my new tank on saturday and wanted to upgrade the lighting as well because I know these bulbs are not very good. That is great news to hear, especially about your par on the sand. I'm excited.
