    So the wife has her setup in the bedroom, and I am going to setup a 8g bio cube that should be shipped some time next week.

    I Have been reading a bunch of sites on nano's and also reading about refugiums. It seems that most folks are turning that 2nd chamber into a refugium with a lil bit of LR and Chaeto? ....

    Here is my question;
    I'm planning on having a small amount of rock and sand but primary I want 2 clowns. Should I setup this refugium or not? In the long run, I might add some green star polyp but that's about all I can think of. If I understand correctly, I'll have to harvest the stuff too .. But what about the pods that end up groing in there... Will they get sucked out into the main tank area and the fish eat them?

    I would porbably setup the refugium, in the long run it should be a benefit to the system, two clowns and some star polyps should be fine in that tank, maybe a a small CUC to keep everything neat and clean...I would use at least 8-10 pounds of LR, and maybe 1/2-3/4 inch of aragonite reef sand if I were to setup an 8gal....oh and you'll have pods from LR also and the fish will probably eat some of them, my clown did when it was smaller

    You can't go wrong with a fuge. It gets rid of nitrates and adds to the total water volume. And with an 8g nano, any sump/fuge will add a significant percentage. I would do it in a heartbeat.

    Thanks a bunch,
    I'll start reading more on the mods and make sure I have everything I need to get it done. Umm, what's this about the stuff sexing and killing my livestock? Should I really stress that or are the chances low?

    I'd do the fuge too. More water volume is always a good thing. Plus, as said already, the Chaeto will help to keep nitrates (and phosphates) down. That's a good thing too.

    Never heard of Chaeto going sexual.

    in using the chamber as a fuge he wont really be increasing water volume significantly but the other benefits are still there...and I also havent read anything about chaeto doing anything like that.
