I found what I hope was a great deal on craiglist and purchased a 90 Gal aquarium for $100. It came drilled with one drain hole and a glass overflow in one corner.
Also came with an old stand and canopy I am replaceing with ones I am building.

My question is in regards to braceing n the tank...or lack of.

This tank has no braceing of any kind across the top and no plastic frame around the upper lip. It is made 100% glass that is 1/2" thick..and this beast ways a ton.

Is this normal in a tank this size and thickness? I do want to get the weight of all that water and have the tank break apart at the seams.

Unfortunately I dont know the brand since I bought it new but any thoughts on this would be great
    Thanks
    Dan

looks homemade, and i bet you won't need the center brace given the thickness of the glass used.

you can always buy the trim peices for the tank(upper and lower) with the crose braces in them and silicone them on. thats might give you some peice of mind. i bought a upper for a 75 i had and i think it was around 25 bucks
