Yeah, I doubt you can save much on international shipping regardless of where you buy from.

    Best of luck.

I like the blend of colors! (Very similar to what I have in mind) If you are thinking to get SPS (shallow kind), Id use UVs instead of red since they are VERY effective on them to get vibrant colors.
Here is what I currently have and some thoughts.
    I have:
    Cool White x 12
    Royal Blue x 12
Addition to above, planning to get:
    Blue x 6
    Cool White x 4
    Neutral White x 8
    UV x 6
I'll go with all CREE LEDs (except UVs since they dont make them) on two separate heatsinks (8"x17"s maybe?), connect them with aluminum plates. I like the long one piece look.

Yeah, I have tried to find somewhere local but only seem to find computer related heatsinks, which are tiny!
when do you plan on upgrading obp? would be great to see how the combination looks.
I have considered using uv's but have read very mixed reviews on them. I'm still on the fence about weather I want them or not, but could always add them to my 'spare' slots later on.
Actually I kind of like the idea of comparing our lights with the 2 different options when they're done now.

How about two of these? Gonna have to pay for the international shipping anyway?

I just checked it out, it's cheaper to Australia than to the US if you buy from them.

And oh, I wanted to upgrade the light like last week! There is always something else and the led project gets bumped down on the list...

Just wanted to see if you have checked any local machine shops? They could easily mill you a heatsink, and it wouldn't take anytime at all. Not sure what it would cost but can't hurt to try.

I havent checked out any machine shops but would imagine getting a heatsink machined from an aluminium billet could be quite expensive around here, I wouldnt even know where to start looking. Would open up a world of interesting options to get creative with its appearance tho! I could spend weeks modelling up things for that haha.
Know exactly what you mean obp! So I've ordered the first 26 of my leds from rapid this week before any more bills had a chance to come at me! I'll let future me deal with how to get lunch next week.
At the moment I'm thinking of just getting the 40" heatsink as planned, but probably won't be til next pay day, so still have 2 weeks to find an alternative.
