rogues good to see your posting with questions.

I would look into a t5 fixture. 6 bulb would be preferred imo. That will give you a nice range in what you could keep in your tank. You dont need to go with mh's to keep all corals. But t5's would be a cost friendly investment.

Ask about a good recommendation on a fixture. Nova extremes are talked about all the time.

This link will give you a wide variety of em. Before you buy ask some 3reefers for an opinion.

NEPs are popular due to the cheap price point..

They are not really all that good but better than garbage.

I wasnt sure... I do know they are talked about all the time and recommended all the time too. Ill leave the recommendations on t5 fixtures to others here.

I do know hes price shopping but wants a good value for what he wants to do. So t5's fit that profile.

    Its all good.
They are not terrible, don't get me wrong they just have some features that could be better, namely their SLRs...

Most people swap out the lamps and when you consider that your are then spending another ~$20 per lamp times 6...

you can get a great 48" t5 fixture. have dr frag recommend one. His recommendation woud be as good as gold for a t5 fixture.

Yeah I have seen that one...

Funny though as Aquactinic's has Solar Flare that is IC SLRs and IC ballasts but made by Aquactinic's... I believe that also has LEDs.

At that price I would take out the Sunpower for sure...
ATI's SLRs are quite abit better than IC's.. Aquactinic's are also of better quality.

I figure IC would start pushing their own units esp since they have UVL making them lamps for them now also.
