Oh man, I just placed an order through Bulk Reef Supply last night!! Oh well. haha. I will definitely check out that rock. If it's good enough for a 700 gallon tank, it should be good enough for my 90!

How many pounds do you think I would need? I plan on doing like 70% base rock and 30% live rock.

Booo! It's out of stock on Bulk Reef Supply. But maybe I can find it somewhere else.

reefcleaners.org has some nice base / dry rock. Nice shapes. Porous. Check it out, I was going to buy some of that rock but got a good deal locally.

I just checked that out. It looks really nice. I think I'll order the 50 pounds (with free shipping!) for $120. I hate not being able to see it, but I trust that John will only send good quality rocks. I definitely trust him over other websites!

I'll do 60 pounds of that base rock and then 30-40 of live (gosh, that's going to be a small fortune!). $10 a pound at my LFS.

Look locally on craigslist and your local reef clubs for live rock. I would never pay LFS price. Most stores bend you over the table for live rock and is a rip off. I got really nice Fiji rock for $2.50 a pound, $2.00 a pound, etc. Saved a lot of money. If you e-mail John and let him know the style of rock you're looking for I'm sure he would work with you. He's top notch.

I really like their Fiji rock, but they don't have any! The website says it's banned from import now, and when I tried to put some in my cart an error message popped up. :(

The Key Largo rock looks okay.

Yea - I stocked up with some extra, you can't get Tonga or Fiji imported anymore from what I understand. Very nice rock, you can really only find it from folks selling it locally.

Big +1 on that. The only thing that is exspensive in this hobby is inpatience. You can save a fortune on LR shopping locally and having patience. There is always LR on CL in my area. Plenty of local reefers on forums usually have some dry laying around. Now and then local rearange stuf and have some left over. I have sold left over LR twice. Going rate around here is $2 a pound of live and it has extras on it.

Thanks. I'll check out my CL. Based on the past, there is slim pickings with regards to saltwater on my local one. But I'll definitely look again!
