I'll tell ya the pukani rock looks nice in a 90 but you can only fit about 70# of it total in the display tank

Yeah, I really like the look of the Pukani rock, but I also want to give John business. I was thinking about doing some Pukani from Bulk Reef Supply and some base rock from ReefCleaners. Would it look weird to mix them? I think it would look interesting to have different styles of rocks. Let me know what you think.

Okay, here are pics of my new stuff...reactor, pump for reactor, two koralia powerheads, overflow box, protein skimmer, filter media and 110 pounds of sand...I think that's everything.

I bought 90 pounds of "dead" sand and 20 pounds of "live" sand. I know some people think "live" sand is a joke, but just in case it's not, :) I bought one bag to seed the "dead" sand.

Also, is my overflow box set up correctly (esp. the tubing)? The directions were a little minimalist...

from what I can tell the overflow looks like the bulkhead should be turned over where it sticks through the overflow box and then the pipe sticking up. then there should be a pipe coming out the bottom to hook the hose too..... BTW I have the same skimmer and it works great. I think you will be happy.

I thought there should be something come out the bottom, but the white pipe didn't seem to fit anywhere...humph.

remember when you do the sand, keep all the live sand together and stack the dead sand up around it, don't spread it out when it's concentrated like that it seems to spread the bacteria the fastest
