Well....that's a lot to do! And, actually, I'm not even sure if I'm going to do a sump.

And since you know a lot more about tanks and all that good stuff than I do, I can pretty much guarantee right now that yours will be much more awesome than mine. But that's okay! This hobby takes awhile to master.

I'm thinking of getting a Coralife skimmer, because they are cheap and I've read good things about them on here. But if someone disagrees, please share!

And for light, I just don't know yet. I'm having a hard time finding a light that isn't over $400 but that is still good enough to have a reef. But I know I do want LED moonlights!

Are you questioning my crazy writing or my lack of sump?!

Lack of sump. I wouldn't do anything over nano without one. The additional water volume alone is worth while, and you can throw one together out of a 20 gallon long for no money. Plus you can hide all the stuff that will otherwise clutter your display.

I know....it just seems like a lot of extra work...

Is it possible to start without a sump, and then add one on later?

start with one.. Go to the LFS that sold you the tank and ask them for an overflow and a 30 gallon tank.. Trust me once you start building it and seeing what you have accomplished, it will be that much more special.. trust me on this one..

I was in a similar situation, in that I had an already running tank, and was upgrading.. so you can still enjoy your tank for the few days it will take to get everything up and running.. Plus, you can hide the ugly equipment and add refugium.. Just copy some of the ideas you have seen on here, or I can send you my plans I already have mapped out for my 75..
