This is honestly what I've been leaning towards, moving everything at once upon set up. I'm gonna be adding around 15 lbs of pukani dry rock, so I don't anticipate that to be too much of an issue. Along with that, I've already bought a 30 lb bag of sand to add to my existing bed. I was planning on seeing how far the additional 30lbs took me then go from there. Thanks for the input!

I see you're located in Austin. I used to live in San Marcos. I love the aquadome up there if you're familiar with that LFS. I have a few buddies that work up there.

the dry pukani rock usually comes with dead things on it. So it's most likely going to cause a phosphate leaching issue. My current tank I used that rock and it took forever to cure. This was with a fresh starting tank. Not sure if it will be the same with yours since you have live rock already.

beautiful tank at a steal! When I upgraded I added dry rock too, so I chose to start the cycle over. I moved as much of my live rock over as possible to help speed things up (which definitely helped). It also had the added benefit of allowing me to mess with my scape OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. I personally chose to start with all new sand. The stuff is cheap, and old sand holds a lot of nasty stuff in it. IMO not worth risking the health of your tank. It was fun to watch the new tank come to life:)

All the plumbing glued and in place! Just needs a little more sand and it'll be ready for water!

Thank you, thank you. I'll definitely be moving over all my rock from my existing 40 gallon, so I should be alright I think! I really have no clue what I want the scape to look like, so I have a feeling I'll be playing around with mine quite a bit as well haha.

Well I got everything moved over yesterday. Everything went well, fish and corals all seem to be happy!

Here's a few better pics. Still tweaking a few thangs, but all in all everything's doing well! My fish definitely seem to be enjoying the extra space. I'll post a few more pics this evening!
