Haha yeah I was just more worried about the red bugs. I'd read a bunch of write ups from people who have used sentinel and it's predecessor interceptor. I'd even found a few people with large reefs who dose their tank with it every few months just to eradicate anything that may or may not be there. So I felt pretty comfortable it wouldn't mess things up. It's actually a heartworm pill for dogs, so I pulverized it mixed it in a cup of water.

 

Interceptor was a great treatment. Yes you may loose your crabs and shrimp if you can not remove them but otherwise it was easy, safe and effective. Side effects included crystal clear water for a couple weeks, no film algae on glass, and unfortunately for some a cyano outbreak, although I never had the problem.

Tank is looking good, and a lot bigger.

 

Ya everything looks excellent right now, better than it has in a good while. Fortunately I dont have any shrimp in this tank, I personally hate them all together haha.

Ya at first I was calling around trying to get interceptor until I finally talked to a vet tech that told me it was discontinued. Then after a little more reading I saw that Sentinel was essentially the same thing and is said to be even more effective. Apparently it has a chiton inhibitor in it that better targets what we want it to.

Thank you though! Definitely a lot bigger. My stand alone on this one is taller than my old tank and stand combined.

Here's a pic of what the old 40 breeder I switched from, now.. I've had the itch to do a planted tank for awhile, so the upgrade gave me a good reason haha.
