Cyano comes in many colors. blue/green, red, brown etc.

looking again, it could be both. increased flow, decrease lighting, decrease available nutrients and siphoning are your best bets.

Some nassarius and cerith snails wouldn't hurt, as they stir up the sand bed, which I've noticed inhibits growth when they're constantly sifting.

Honestly I wouldn't worry too much, as they'll probably go away once your tank finishes it's mini-cycle

I'm afraid that the File will eat the snails.
I'm going to try to suck some out tomorrow, and put like 15G of new SW in.

I have 2 of the bigger Koralias 1050s.
I have one in the back, behind the rockwall, which I thought would be a good spot. And then I've been moving the other one around.

2 K-1,050s plus the return pump should be enough flow, right?

I agree in that it looks like both to me as well. Your plan should help take care of it :) It wouldn't hurt to add one more powerhead to your set up.

    Another power head?
Hmmmm, I already hate the ones that are in there...
    Too bulky, the wires, etc.

I guess it couldn't hurt to have one just on the very bottom right above the substrate though. But again, it looks bad with the wire dangling.

FWIW, I have a wp-25 and absolutely love it! They are not that expensive and it provides a lot of flow for a small powerhead. It also doesn't get clogged up with detritus and such as much as my koralias. Maybe you could add in a smallish maxijet?
