    Well, depends on what you were looking for. 55 lbs will only give you about 1" of sand across the entire bottom of the tank. With rocks on the bottom, you will get a little more obviously.

    Every 50 lbs. should give you about 1".

    Finally my pump is here, I took some shots. Overall good build quality. Ill let everyone know how it goes. It's looking like tomorrow will be D-Day.

    I started plumbing everything.... No matter how good you plan things, you always end up with at least 3 trips to Home Depot. In about another hour I should start filling tank up and transferring rock and live stock.

    Does anyone know Why my overflow is surging? My level keeps going up and down causing the level in my return chamber to fluctuate. That is gonna mess up my ATO.

    I had that problem with my overflow when I upgraded my return pump. and it was because my overflow wasn't enough for the pump. In my case I got lucky because I found a clog in my overflow that was big enough for my previous pump. that took care of the surging and fluctuating levels.

    Thx, actually all i had to do was offset the street elbow that comes off stand pipe. So right now it's in an angle and it seems to be working right. I will monitor for a couple of days before I set my ATO.
