Hey Everyone... Check out my 90 Gallon reef... No filters..Just a refugium with 3 types of Calupera doing the work. (Only a water change once a month with no real algae growth in the display) The refugium does a great job of pumping fresh Copepods into the tank as well. The tank is geared towards LPS and Soft Corals as well as Polyps. Since overstocking is the worst thing for the fish, the tank only has a Six line wrasse (for the bristleworms) and a Yellow Tang.

Looks great. No skimmer either? I don't think I'm strong enough to go without it. Good for you. I like to have more than 2 fish I guess. Keep the pics comeing.

    Thanks Everyone!

Thanks Everyone, Long Time reader...first time poster.

In terms of the skimmer...I did not put one on when I built this reef a year ago. My LFS said "Skimmers kill life" (referring to copepods and other organisms) and suggested I go without it for a while. It seems to work. The larger the bio load, the faster the Calupera grows and I just need to prune every 2-3 weeks. All params are good for 12 months and counting. (knock on wood)
