apparently a fuge full of rocks and is kept in the dark for sponges and all those types of living organisms to thrive. I'm not 100% sure all how it work because I looked it up briefly when I first saw one. All I can say is it looks weird and nasty in a way.

I saw one of those on I believe RC TOTM, it was very creepy looking - full of what looked like worms but they called them something else.

Are the fuges large? what are they tending to keep in the fuges?

some of them i saw had ridiculous sized sumps. and some I just saw them with sumps full of live rock and no macro. others used zeovit method. Funny thing is that you don't see many running pellets. after putting some thought into it, i'm leaning more towards making my 15 gallon tank that i have sitting around into a live rock holder with a baffle wall full of seachem matrix. I am using matrix in the HOB filter that I have the 15 gallon set up as a frag tank and it's been doing a great job and never needs replacing. Off the return pump i will run the biopellet reactor that the output will feed into the skimmer. And another line into the gfo reactor. Flow should be sufficient enough to supply the skimmer after the pellets.

The build has begun little by little. Now getting ready to melt that debit card and the 150 trips to Home Depot for plumbing. Just received the stand today and cut out the overflow holes in it and threw the tank on top. Installed the tank overflow and return plumbing. Painted the back and overflow section of the tank with latex black. And noticed a chip on the inside lower portion of the front glass. Doesn't look too bad and you can catch a nail a bit on it. It's the last image. Hopefully it doesn't develop to something else bigger. Will see while the tank cycles after it's final fill up. Tomorrow will be the leak check on the tank. Here's a few pics of the tank as the kick off and will be posting pics and updates as the build progresses. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
