So for the 90g I am building currently I found 2 new koralia 1050's on craigslist for $25 each, just wondering if anyone thought this would be too much flow? Currently the 90g will have a mag drive 700gph return pump but its worn and makes a lot of noise so I would like to get something in the 30-40 watt range that is silent instead. Any suggestions on a good return pump that is not too astronomically priced?

I have 4 Evo 750s on a 75g tank, and it's not too much flow. I think 2 1050s will not be enough. I also have 2 K1s (400gph each) on a 20g tank (mostly Zoas and GSP), and I like the amount of flow.

I have a 90 gal, with 3 1050s, and still wish I had more flow. I run two on one end near my SPS side, and one on the other near my LPS.

As far as return, I run a rio hyperflow 12, which gives me ~600gph at 4feet of head. It's quieter than my skimmer pump, not sure on the wattage...

I agree as well. I have a 90gal with 2 EVO 1400 and that is fine. My 54 gal has 2 1050 and i need at least one.

Keep in mind. First make sure those Koralias are real. There are cheap knock offs. Second if they are real, $25.00 is a deal. Even if the basket is damaged due to timer use, Hydor will replace the baskets free of charge.

They are brand new in box, so I will take a close look at them before hand. I use koralias on my other tank as well. I had hoped that 1050 would be about right + a little more. Thanks everyone. Anymore return pump input?

    I have a 75G with 2 tunze 6045, 2 k nano 425, 1 k 1400, 1 k 1050 and still feel that I need a little more flow.

As for return, what is your exact budget? Do you plan on running any reactors off of the return pump?

my return pump is putting out about the same ~650 ish, i have a maxijet pro (250gph) and a koralia magnum 5 (2650 gph) in there right now with about 38x turn over, and i have a korilia magnum 6 in the mail that'll add another 2200 gph flow.

but then again im shootin for 60X turn over for SPS corals.

youll have right around a 30X turn over rate, which is good. it all depends on what you wanna do i guess. im still pretty new, but from what i understand 30x turn over is just about perfect for most lps and softies, some sps if near teh powerhead.

a wise man named xmetalfan99 knows alot more about this will prolly tell you alot more than i can :)

Probably in the 150 range, im holding off on it for now but it will be in the near future after the tank is done cycling.

My pump is 1100 GPH, but is a high pressure pump. I have mine in my fish room in the basement and piped up into our theater room. Even that I have the flow cut back a little.

Do you have one or two returns and like others have stated, depends if you are going to be tapping into that return.
