If I had known, I would of made the return section as small as possible to fit my skimmer. As now my skimmer resides out of the sump. However, the bigger return section does all me to run a phosphate reactor and soon a KW reactor.

    Tank Stand Frame

Purchased 2x4's from Home Depot monday and took the risk of having them chop all my boards for me based on measurements from my drawings. They actually did a really good job, for free, and I was surprised my drawings were accurate :). Everything was within 1/16" allowing me to just screw everything together and saving me the hassle.

I built it as two platforms, the base and the top, with supports tying it together.
I still have to do the plywood base and top as well as the exterior trim & doors.

Trimble Sketchup, it's pretty amazing for being free. It does at least 80% of what other, expensive 3D cad programs can do.

I was planning on making a U-tube that I can quick connect an RO/DI line to. The top of the 10g is slightly above the lowest edge of the upper brace. I would imagine I wouldn't need to do this more than 1-2 times a week.

By far not the most beautiful peice of furniture I've ever seen, but it will work.

It's built from 2x4's, 3/4" hardwood ply, and black acrylic exterior (waterproof) paint, and it looks like it too lol.

I said I was going to take my time building this, but the last two months have been nuts, leaving me little time to work on my stand.

Now I just need to pick up a tank!
