Threw a few hermits in the new tank last night to see how they liked it. Still scooting around, being all hermity;), so I guess everthing is fine and dandy. Prob put my back up T5 system on it and throw a few more pieces of LR in it tomorrow. May add my 2 clowns to it in the next few days. Need to get some algae growing for my cuc.

1 question, my outputs to the sump have a ton of bubbles, that i think will hurt evaporation. Any thoughts on minimizing the bubbles? TIA

I have never fully conquered that situation but I don't think it is as large of a contributor to evaporation as you believe.

How high above the water are the outlets? If they are below water level you will have less to worry about I believe.

thats whats weird to me, the fuge outlet is below the water and the sump outlet is just at the water line, I'll drop it a bit tomorrow and see.

Thx 2in10 for the reassurance about evap rate. here are some pic's

That's not excessive, I wouldn't worry...if you run a sock its a wrap.. btw..nice looking setup...I believe you will be satisfied with the results.
    edit..
Just a thought ...I'd put a rubber flap over that power outlet...it would be nice if you could change it to a GFI style also..jmo....cable management?..the devils in the details. : )
one more edit... Sorry, but you may want to wrap your clear hoses with some black or solid electric tape...it will get built up with algae for sure.. : /

Thanks for the input LG, I have a huge GFCI unit that everything will be plugged into once I get everything settled, and I'm think I'm gonna cover everything with a tupperware device of some sorts, I'll find something to work.

And thanks for the heads up on wrapping the clear tubing, didn't think of that.

Ok, been trying to find some good ideas on wire management, but man, most your threads are LONG. Can someone point me to a pic of where to put/protect all your wires and power centers. I'm gonna have a big GFCI unit and then 3 other power centers to hide.

OK, as noted above, I have a GFCI unit to plug in that everything else will be plugged into!

added a rubber flap over the outlet, and a few splash guards over the return outlet to help prevent salt creep, and covered the clear tubing, should've bought black, DUMB, oh well, blue looks cool

Gonna need a new fuge light, this thing is too big.

Cosmo my wire management I kept simple. I used toe strap and tie strap anchors that I got from homedepot. I think I spent under $10 bucks for 100 pack of each and used a label machine I had at home and just printed labels for each cord. All my wires with the exception of a few all run above the sump inside the stand. If I ever need to make a change, tie straps are cheap. This link http://www.3reef.com/forums/new-hobby/aquascaping-comments-133233-5.html will take you to a thread I started it has some pics of what I did with the wires. I'm not at my computer right now but I can upload more detail pics later if you like.

Awesome nept2n, I'll cheek it out, but any help ya can offer is great. I sat down and stared for a bit at it. Threw ideas at my buddy, Miller Lite, and came up with a plan, but I like a few points ya brought up. Thanks again for the help;)
