Hey guys! We just purchased a 90g closed loop tank to upgrade the 55g. [IMG] this is where I will be documenting our progress.
Right now my boyfriend is starting with the plumbing for our first closed loop system. I am going to be honest and say that I have no idea what he is doing. I understand the idea behind a closed loop but that is basically it. So until we get to the more basic set up I am just going to give you the link to his blog, where he will give you a more in depth explination of our plans.
Feel free to comment here, I will show him and comment back to the best of my ability. Be sure to check back frequently I will post new links when he updates the page! Stay tuned for pictures and updates!

The yellow triangle is the SCWD
Red are pipes going back into the tank
Black are the pipes going to the pump
And in the corner in black are my pipes for the sump (disregarded in the closed loop)

Sweet! closed loops are definitely a great way to keep powerheads out of the tank. What kind of corals do you plan?

we are keeping the leathers, rasta zoas, tri color acro and gsp from the 55. we will be adding more sps (or try to). i would like a hammer, and a few big center pieces like a monti or large acro. i love leathers and my boyfriend loves zoas so im sure there will be a few of both lol. dont worry there will be plenty of pictures.
we also plan on adding a tang, one more blue chomis and maybe one more we haven't decided on yet
