A 2010/11 Ski + Snowboard Thread

Anyone else pumped about the upcoming ski/snowboard season? I've been waiting since February this year to get back out on the slopes and start shredding.

I know theres been significant snow already this year in different parts of the country. Has anyone been out already?

I'm in South Jersey so no significant snow quite yet but a few of the resorts are open and have the guns going.

Any pics of your setup this year or latest sessions?

Any trips planned?

 

We just got dumped on here in Wisconsin. I'm getting back on my X-country skis after a 4 year hiatus after high school. Time was devoted to other things and after that snow i'm pumped to get back at it!!! There's a race already in about 2 weeks, not sure if we'll be ready for that one ha ha...

 

Heck yes! Going to JH Wyoming in a few days. Best mountain in the US (if you like off-trail) IMO
Got a pic of my K2's - bought em last year but didnt rock em too much cuz the snow was crap until mid jan... Praying to the snow g.d this year!

 

Definitely jealous of you guys out West. I learned to snowboard in Utah while at school out there. Coming back to the Poconos was seriously underwhelming. We do have a 5 day trip coming up soon to Whiteface in Lake Placid, NY. Feb/March I hear is better up there, but too many conflicting schedules to make it work.

Depending on conditions, might try and hit up Blue Mtn just after XMas for the first runs of the season. :elf:

 

Yea i always found putting a ski trip together to be difficult :/ It's usually just my brother and I but even that can be hard to coordinate now days... Ill post some pic/vids hitting the runs when i get a chance.

Here's my 09 Skate Banana 156 with new Rome 390 Boss binders. I ordered all black ones but they ran out and sent me the black/white ones :-/ Would have preferred the all blacks but they seem to be sold out everywhere.

 

They are saying this is the best opening the JHMR has ever had. Teton Village is a little too spendy for me so I get my pass at Grand Targhee. If you have a chance on one of your days, they sometimes run a shuttle over the pass to Targhee and it is definitely worth a look. When storms come in from the west they have a tendency to hang out on the Idaho side of the Tetons and dump! Sometimes Jackson Hole will get 3-4 inches overnight and Targhee will get 10-12 out of the same storm. I still have friends in the ski/snowboard industry so if you need info on possible deals PM and I will see if I can do anything, no promises but may be able to get a discount voucher or two.
