I know everyone here is very responsible and successful with their tanks, but is it just me, or is there one coral out there that just won't work in your tank? I've always heard that Acropora is the hardest, but my acros have been the healthiest corals in the tank. For me I cannot keep birds nest. Every time I try it closes up and bleaches within a couple weeks.

    Anyone else?

My finger leathers never opened until I got RO/DI water and upgraded from PCs to t5s.

ok i know this sounds weird but i have no luck with ricordea, im always killing them, i have tried high and low in my tank, no luck. On the other hand SPS grow like weeds for me, so im thinking i might not have enough nutrients in my tank for ricordea

Torch coral. My acros are growing like crazy, I can keep frogspawn or hammer coral no problem, but torches die out fast in my tank.

I have a hard time getting zoos to thrive. They will grow in bursts but then die back. I haven't been able to link it with anything I'm doing yet.
All my LPS and SPS did fine during this.

I have issues with zoas too. My duncans, mushrooms, kenya, toadstool are all doing great but not the zoas.

Zoas won't grow in my tank either. I had a cluster of "radioactive dragon eyes" that grew to 20 polyps and has now scaled back to about 9 polyps. My "gorilla nipples" once covered an entire 4" long tonga branch, now they have completely disappeared. But I have some sort of zoa with a red ring around the center, and i don't think they have grown or shrunk since I purchased them a few months ago. I'm waiting for them to swing one way or the other. It's maddening!
