    I have two unidentified fishy objects that I'm hoping someone will be able to shed some light on,

    The first falls into the (at least I think) algae category, I think I have narrowed this down to either Dinoflagellates or Calothrix after looking at the nuisance algae ID guide but I'm not sure which and I'm not sure what is the best way to get rid of it, this is the best picture I could get, I took several but this was the most focused lol

    any help would be great....

    [IMG]

    its mostly growing from my rocks and appears to be more yellowish than brown, it does not have any kind of hold what so ever as its very easy for me to syphon out

    my tank params are...

    amm = 0
    nitrites = 0
    nitrates = 0
    phos = 0.25-0.5 (what I believe to be the cause)
    cal = 420
    alk = 10
    ph = 8.4
    mag unknown

    my second UFO has to do with my scribbled rabbitfish, he has a white spot on the side of his mouth, I don't think it is ich as it seems too big to be ich, my thoughts and hopes, are that it is possibly a scar, if anyone can ID this that would be great as well

    I see dinos on the rocks and a fluke on the fish.

    treatment for the flukes? is it just this one fish or is the whole tank infested?

    is there a reef safe treatment out there or do I have to try and catch all these fish lol

    thank you for the quick reply btw

    also how about the dinos how would I go about getting rid of those?

    thanks

    I don't know about the flukes but I'm sure if you do a search, you can find an answer. I would recommend that you also read up on dinos......they seem to be a complete PITA to get rid of....there are several on here that have had success with a black out method. See if you can find Corailline's input on treating dinos.

    I agree with evolved on this. The black out method worked for me with dinos. Flukes you can put the fish in a QT and treat it that way.

    Are we talking all the fish or just the SR?

    So this is not like ich where it would get in the water column and affect the other fish?

    Could I get away with a freshwater dip using prazipro?

    Flukes tend to be less likely to do that. I am not sure on the treatment in marine tanks. I would do an internet search to find the best treatment.

    What I'm actually finding is to dose prazipro in the DT from what I've read it's supposed to be reef safe but I'm not sure. I've read on wetwebmedia that you shouldn't quarantine rabbits and I made the mistake of not dipping him before putting him in the DT. So now I have a decision I suppose take him out and QT (of which I have 2 black clowns QTing from purchase), take him out and dip him or treat the whole DT...

    I'm leaning towards dip any thoughts?
