Hi. EDIT: edited post since got no responses anyway ;)

Ya'll might remember I've been building a house and all that. Well we're just about done and I expect I'll be moving within 2-3 weeks. (closing 11/11/11)

I am now starting to plan my tank move.

So, got a few questions I would really appreciate 3reef's help on. Some of these are dumb, I warn you. I'm moving this tank and then after we get settled down I'm going to do the tank upgrade. So I want to experiment with a few more things with this tank before the upgrade.

I'm using new sand from marcorock. As i've never used sand before, should be fun with the new critters.

I have 1 rock with short hair algae on it  This rock also has a rather large zoa colony on it. My thought is to chip off the zoa colony and nuke the rest of that rock. My question here is, the part I chip off, will a coral dip like ReVive kill algae or is it just useful for bugs, etc.? Basically, how do you kill algae growth that's in a colony when you have the opportunity to remove the colony and do something better than when it's in your tank.

I have another medium sized rock that has a really big blasto colony that has completely grown off its plug and is on the rock. I can not chip this coral off without breaking up the colony and I absolutely do not want to do that. My problem here is there is a bubble algae that keeps growing up in the middle of the colony (it's taken out the 3 central heads so far). So I want to permanently resolve this ongoing nuisance during the transfer and I can handle the rock closely. Similar to above, would a dip like ReVive kill bubble algae? And further, what is the effect on the (TX holey) Live Rock? Is that safe to dip LR into ReVive or Lugols etc? How do you dip a coral attached to a giant rock?

I need to move my RO/DI of course. Can someone link me to a good thread on that? Do I just empty it and then refill at the new place? Should I remove the membrane or anything crazy like that? I will be replacing the sediment/carbon filters as part of the move.

John Maloney, if you read this, that anemone I got from you some time back ate my bi color blenny!!!! It was amazing, sad, but amazing. After the move, I expect I'll need to refresh my CuC ;)

    Thanks reefers
