a good skimmer for my 120g

hey all, im looking for a good skimmer for my 120g tank i have a 40g sump as well so something that can handle everything would be great thanks...

 

I'll be getting a PM Bullet 1 for my next skimmer in a tank about your size.
I'd recommend that but you'd need a big boy pump to power it.

 

I like the Euro Reefs, I've got a 125ish g tank and I'm using the er-135 for almost 3 years now with no probs.

 

I've been using the Aqua C Urchin Pro w/magdrive 3 on my 120G with 50 gallon sump. You drop it and thats about it. No installation, no adjustments needed. Pulls 1 cup of dark skimmate everyday. Cheap, superefficient, low maintenance (just gota empty the drain bottle and clean the collection cup whenever you need).

You don't have to do this but just incase you decide to get one of these, run it in some clean water with small amount of baking soda for a week to get all the oils out of it. I ran mine in warm Ro/DI water for a week. After that i ran it my sump, it pulled dark skimmate within minutes with the cup set at the highest level.

 

Check out the new hurricones from reefspecialty.com. Maybe overrated but that just means you can overstock lol... bad advice, at least the overstocking part...
