Lately, ive seen a number of new members, or those not very computer savy ask how to post pictures and videos to these forums. Ill do my best to walk you through the process...

    1. Take your picture/video and upload them to an image hosting website. There are numerous ones out there one being Photo Bucket. This site is probably the most common used. For those of you who are lost already, photo bucket is a place where we take pictures from our cell phone, digital cameras, web cams, scanned photos etc. and place them on an internet server where the image is assigned a specific URL that is viewable by those who access it. For videos Youtube seems to be the head cheese in video sharing via internet. The same applies with it, simply upload the video of your choice to Youtube (note both sites require a user name and password, so you will need to create an account if your do not already have one.)

    2. Once you have your image/video uploaded you are going to locate its url. With photo bucket. this will look something like so http://i35.photbucket... locate this icon right above the main body of the message field.

Once clicked it will prompt you to insert the html of the desired photo. this will give you the correct html code you need to put a picture in your thread. Better yet it will give you the best sized image, vs adding attachments. Although that way works it seems to be more cluttered and annoying, imo.

    3. For Youtube videos the method is closely related. Once your video is on Youtube, view it like you would any other video on Youtube. Now you are going to look at the address bar. This is where the www.xyz.com is put in for you to navigate the web. within the address to the video you are watching there is a part of the code that will embed it on your thread. .../watch?v=.... where the "v=...copy everything after the = sign.

    4. Next locate the Youtube icon three icons to the right of that mountain icon used to insert images. Once clicked it will insert the html code like this

Lets break this down for you:

For youtube videos use this code:

[ YOUTUBE ]**********[ /YOUTUBE ] - you just have to take the spaces out in between the brackets to make the code work right.

For example, under the video click share and copy the last part of the link

(i.e. youtu.be/sNSY_4OhxVo) - you want to use sNSY_4OhxVo in between the brackets above.

    For pics from photobucket:

Use the img code. All you have to do is click on the img code and it should copy automatically for you.
