OK i'm a little confused. I was reading the Conscientious Marine Aquarist and it said that A.Japonicus tang was a much better choice than the A.Nigricans(more durable) Then I was reading Marine Fishes and it said just the oppisite. Who is right?? And I guess my real question is I have a 75 gal and my plan is to include 1 tang. I was thinking about Naso, but I saw one at the LFS that was huge and was wondering if my tank was large enough. Thats what made me look at Power Browns. Thoughts???

Thanks for the reply. I have read that thread and it was great, but I'm still not clear which of the tangs is more durable, or could I put a NASO in my 75. My total (planned) fish are 3 clown, 1 coral beauty, 3 Fairy Wrasse, and 1 tang. Thanks in advance for any guidance

This seems to be a highly debated subject. I have a local reefer here in Vancouver that has the Nigrican while I have the Japonicus. We argue often as to which is a more durable fish

Have you checked out Wet Web yet?
    They state
" Both are sold under each other's names, often for similar cost, and there indeed, is the rub. Yes, you do want to know how to tell one from the other, and to purchase the white-faced A. japonicus, and avoid A. nigricans"

I believe that a Naso is a stretch for a 75, 100 gallons would be more the minimum for a full grown adult in my opinion.

Craig, thanks for the input! The Naso I saw looked pretty darn big for a 75.
Jason, What a beauty! I did read that on Wet Wed, and it was very very close to the exact wording in The Conscientious Marine Aquarist. What has been your experience with your Power Brown. Did you get him at a LFS or on the net. Aggressive?? Hard to feed?
