My first question is on the 12 gal. I had a 12 gal Aquapod before the NanoCube, but it was falling apart on me piece by piece. What I did like was my actenic lights and my day lights were 2 different switches. I could turn my actinics on for an hour before my daylights. With my NanoCube I can't do that. Anyone know how I can get it to do that?

My other question is I ordered 2 lights for my 6 gal. When I lifted the hood I realized it only takes one light. I did the same thing last year. So I still have the bulb from last year I didn't use and then the bulb from this year. I'm planning to change my lights every 6 months now, will they still be good to use in 6 months? The first bulb will actually be 18 months old.

Any help or advise would be great.

the bulb will be fine as long as it wasn't in use. Also if you want to add some actinics your best bet might be some LEDs due to a small space. that way you dont need to add a reflector or anything.

Agreed- LED's will likely be the most customizable option to upgrade you lighting. There are dozens of manuf. of supplemental LED lighting to choose from.

It does have 2 LEDs, tiny ones, but I liked the blue light going on before the daylights. It seemed more natural. I swear I scare the crap out of my crabs and snails when I turn my daylights on. Wasn't sure if there was a way to change that.

My lights have not been used. Thanks, and I will try to NOT order lights for my 6 gal for a while;)

It's wired kinda wierd. On the hood it has the switch that work the 2 LEDs, then there is a fat cord that goes down to a black box, and on that box is the switch that works the lights. I don't like it.

    Oh well, thanks anyway.:)
