Got a couple of things I hope the experienced reefers can help me with. Two of them I think are bad and one good. We'll see how it works out........

    1) The first one is a film like algae all over the tank, this is the back of the tank that doesn't get the mag. My CUP was doing the job pretty well but I think I've had a few snails get taken out by the hermits.
    Would turbos help out?
Is this just the typical diatom outbreak that a new tank goes through(running 1 month+)

    2) This is a very leafy, green type plant/algae growing on the rock. Is it okay or a problem?

    3) Some kind of purple mushroom?
    Thanks!

Turbos will help as well as a Red-Lipped Blenny. They are awesome at helping to reduce the microalgae on your glass. If the brown slime comes off easy, then it's not diatoms as diatoms require scrubbing to remove. The snails that you have now are sufficient to help you. Maybe try some Astrea snails as well. They are better than Turbos as they are hardier and don't grow as big.
As far as the algae is concerned, it looks like some form of macroalgae(caulerpa, Grascillaria). Do you plan on setting up a refugium? If so i'd place that rock in the refugium to help reduce the nutrients in your tank that the micro is competing for. Should be ok for now. And yes it is a Purple mushroom!!!they are gorgeous! Ihave a few in my tank as well.

I wasn't currently planning on a refugium. The macroalgaea is on a rock that is a large base rock so I would hate to move it.
Will those purple mushrooms spread on their own? They are killer!

The mushrooms will spread on their own. They don't require intense light or strong water current, plus they like iodine. They spread via asexual reproduction. What they do is move a little at a time leaving a daughter mushroom in its place.

    Ok well.

#1 does sound like just some plain old brown dust algae, get a spong scrapper and you should be able to whipe it off easily.

#2 are some little buggers I have dealt with. Im not sure what they are...i will look up the name...but they grow very fast. I had some on a rock with a colony of zoos, i had to keep pulling it off and pullint it off untill i pulled it all off. That stuff is probably good for a refugium...but you might want to take it out because im sure it can easily get out of hand. (i was pulling handfulls off each week).

#3, although im not sure, does look like some sort of mushroom.

The mushroom is in slightly above the middle of the picture. It is the dark circular object, not the light pink on the rock.
