I'm guessing that my Blonde Naso got a little to close to the Anemone got stung. I found this this morning! Not happy grrr this hobby can be aggravating. I was wondering if I should let the anemone finish or intervene and remove the fish?

Oh the rock anemone is very happy.

If its a small tank and big fish may be remove it. Medium tank and medium fish I would leave it be. At least be on the look out for expelled remains if you leave it.

Personally, I believe the hermit crab is the culprit. Larger hermits (and other crustaceans, for that matter) may become opportunistic when leftover food is no longer enough (some species are actually predators, as well). But from what I see, something was chewing on the fish before it landed in the nem's reach, and he's still there. Whether it died for some unknown reason (it does happen) and he was just doing his job, or if he actually caught a healthy fish sleeping is the question that may never be answered.

Intervene! You don't want that breaking down in your tank and the rock Nem will not finish it. Not to mention if the fish was sick you are now exposing the entire tank to it.

Just an opinion. I do like seeing my Rock Nem feed but this may be one of those time you don't want it to.

Maybe I should put the crabs in the fugue?

I wouldn't recommend it. Keeping them well-fed with an occasional chunk of raw fish or shrimp usually prevents problems for me. And if for some reason it didn't, I'd set up a small species tank for them where they can't do any harm but still receive proper care.

Actually it just not that uncommon for anemones to eat tangs. You can google it and even quite a few images of it.

    Not my images.

I do not know what is about tangs, perhaps their body shape or the way they swim.

Just google anemone eating tang or similar.

I do not find it that surprising. Most fish are driven off by resident clowns, no resident clowns and tangs just wanders too close. Rock anemones do not host clowns so accidents happen.
