First, I currently have a 29 gallon nano tank in the early stages (about 4 1/2 months old). Ten gallon sump, Octopus 110, 4x24 TEK.

I don't want to dose anything. I'd rather just do 20% WC's every week, and be done. I tore down my 75 gallon in order to streamline my life, so simple is what I want and need. The species inhabiting the tank will be determined by what can flourish under these conditions.

Cost is not a factor. We're only talking about making 4-5 gallons a week at the outside, and I'm willing to pay to get the very best.

SOOO, with these conditions in mind, I'd be interested in your salt recommendations!

    Thanks everyone!

    D-D's H2Ocean Mg pro + hands down.

Although I have to disagree with what you said - "The species inhabiting the tank will be determined by what can flourish under these conditions" That sounds like to me, whatever lives lives, whatever doesn't, well oh well. And you do not want that kind of attitude....

That's not my attitude at all, I'm happy to say. I love my little crittter friends too much for that.;)

What I'm saying is, I will be building a reef community designed for this specific tank, not the other way around.

I expect a preponderance of LPS, with some montipora thrown in, perhaps a birdsnest, and a moderate fish load. But these are expectations more than goals. I'm not going into this one with an "I want to keep such-and-such" mindset. That will be my next tank. :)

I have read and can say out of the bag I think red sea sea salt is the closest thing to ocean water itself. Yes its the most expensive at most stores but it describes what your looking for
