Yeah that's a great idea. the rock being in the sump or in the fuge where it can be a safe heaven for your copepods and amphipods which is what alot of fish thrive on, like the green mandarin goby.

Thanks for the help guys! Well...our wet/dry filter has been officially changed...after the THIRD Marineland M2 arrived with a hairline crack that slowly leaked after a test fill. We probably could have patched it up with some Weld-On, but felt that we shouldn't have to. We want to get off to a good start with an undamaged sump.

Just a warning to anyone who might be considering the Marineland sumps...they are packaged very poorly and the build quality was very shoddy (at least on our 3).

Anyway, an AGA MegaFlow 2 is now on its way to us...hopefully we will have better luck with this product. Doesn't really delay us any since we are waiting on the tank itself. We will post some updated pictures from the project soon!

One thing...... If this is a build thread then there is not enough pictures and I will have to file charges to Luna (our pic police) and have you arrested. :)

Other then that, looks like you will have a nice piece of the ocean in your home shortly.

We certainly intended this to be our build thread...despite all our planning... right now we really just need a little bit of good luck! BTW, love your piece of ocean Otty! :)

I had that marineland skimmer for around a month before I sold it . . . I was very un-impressed with it. Hope you have better luck with it than I did.
