Neat looking fish, but one thing not to love is the size. It only gets up to 2.5", if it were me I would prefer a fish that grew a little larger. Like a Midas blenny, now those are perfect.

six line wrasse and are both interesting fish you could get, a small school of chromis, and what about a small hawkfish, have you thought about inverts? I have to add that you said you would give a clown to your gf and an anemone.... anemone's require a well established tank and high lighting, maybe a small soft coral would be a better substitute for an anemone.

I have a royal gramma, and he's my favorite fish. He is out swimming all day, all over the tank, and is very eye catching. He isn't aggressive either. He is a slight meanie at feeding time, but causes no harm and doesn't prevent any of the other fish from eating.

    Anyways, he's my fav!!

Here is what I have in my 30 and my thoughts on them

Yellow Stripped Maroon Clown- This guy was my first saltwater fish. He's pretty cool, good personality always out. I have heard they may turn agressive though, however mine is still super peacefull. Down the road I would love to get a Naked or Picasso Clown.

Bimac Hog- Nice coloration with yellow and pink. Loves to swim around. Sometimes chases my Pacific Candy Basslet.

Pacific Candy Basslet- Awesome "poor mans" candy basslet. A little secretive but he has adapted very well

Blue Dot Jawsfish- Awesome colorful fish with a personality. Could watch this guy for hours. Whether he his working on his fort or just looking around confused as hell he is always entertaining.

Neon Goby- Cool little fish. Put him in about 3 weeks ago. Has developed some ick but he seems to be getting better.

Brazillian Flameback Angel- Awesome little angel. always swimming around, gets along well with everyone. I have a fish only tank so nipping at corals is not a problem for me.

Yasha Goby- My absolutely favorite. Awesome color and body shape. Spends a lot of time in his burrow but comes out a good amount as well. Awesome to watch them dart from their home when it is feeding time.

I also have 2 cleaner and one blood red fire shrimp. Adds a nice touch to the tank, and they will clean your fingers too!

As far as other suggestions I personally love the Heilfriechi's firefish and Dracula goby.

I have two Percula clownfish in my 30. I used to have a yellow headed pearly jawfish in there with them but I have since moved him to another tank. I'm going to watch this thread to see what others say too as I am now interested in what else could go in a 30 =)
