I got a piar of saddles (2.5" & 2") that have yellow mouths and flourecent yellow fins. For now they will be the proud owners of a 10 gal species tank with a white carpet. Does any one here have an approximation on there growth rate and when they reach sexual maturity?

I've been staying a few feet from the tank to let them adjust as ive read they are alittle skittish and somewhat a more sensitive species but have spawned in captivty with viable offspring sporraddically. I want to get an adult pair for my show tank but they seem to be impossible to find, any clues?

Great looking clowns. Are you planning to move them to a bigger display tank in the future?

Availability is knowing where to look. I import 20 - 30 of those a week ;) I have a baby in my tank, I like their swimming action. Sorry, no other info then that.

Yes i am going to relocate them to either my living room or most likley our show tank @ work when they get bigger, but if they prove to be like any of my other larger clowns where then they are slow growers. I was going to get a pair of black ocellaris but the splash of yellow swayed me towards these (plus they are a pair already and im lazy.... ;) ) As soon as i get the retro kit for my cube ( 70watt MH) and my skimmer dialed in an S. haddoni is goin in for this spoiled couple. Ill post pics when i get the setup finished.

Thanks reiple! I looked hard to find a pair with vibrant fins. I see smaller plymnus all the time and occasionally adults but this is an "alleged" mated pair, and a young one to boot. Though it's almost impossible to tell age by size (to an extent) both are inquisitive, active, and less shy than any others i had seen, so i guess that they are young as they dont seem to yet hav a fear of people approaching the tank or even putting my fingers in, telling me that they havent been "tramautized" yet. I have caught the smaller one actually poking one side of its head out of the water! Ne ways, enough gloating...I cant wait tig out my light system to give em a proper "bed"!
