    Hi Everyone,

This is my first post at 3reef, I've been working and testing a new method of filteration for setting up tanks and maintenance that I like to share with fellow reefer on this borad. This method is totally new way of setting up tanks, unlike anything we are custom to. I would like to know how open mind people are here on 3reef to learn a new system. I came from Reef Central, they do not like anything new over there. So before I wasting everyone's time I like to know if is OK to start such thread.

The topic I would like to cover is Totally Aerobic Nitrogen Cycle

    Thanks

So what if you get flamed, Besides that you don't see flaming around here unless someone totally deserves it.
We even had a civil discussion about going bareboard and deep sand beds...

I joined this board last year after 'lurking' for a while on several boards. The greatest thing about this board is that everyone is open minded and we are all learning everyday. So welcome and post away!

Man I say go for it. The people on this board are civil beyond belief. I personally am always interested to hear about a new way to do things. If I don't agree witgh it fine. If I do then great.

Hello Newagereefer. .... got one question for ya (for now), Whats your idea for dealing with the end of the cycle(nitrates). I have been pondering that for awhile ... but macro algae in a refugium , a coil denitrater or plenum system , is all my newbie brain could come up with.

Thank you all for all the kind words, I shall pull my notes together and start posting in a new thread "Totally Aerobic Nitrogen Cycle" sometime tomorrow.

I am not sure what are you asking here, I assume you are asking how to get rid of nitrates right? Well, with this system there aren't going to be any nitrates left when the cycle is complete. As matter of fact you would have a problem to grow any macro algae in the refugium attched to the main tank, because the water will be so clean macro algae or micro algae for that matter will have problem to obtain sufficient food to eat and grow. I hope I answer your question correctly.
