Well, I posted yesterday that my blue hippo was acting funny and hadn't eaten since Sunday. I came home from work today to find her in the same spot and not moving. Needless to say, she has passed away. It is sad because she was my favorite fish. And now I am down to only 3 (2 Clarkii clowns and a six line wrasse). I was wondering what everyone would recommend me getting to restock my tank when things settle down. I would like some color and a fish that is an active swimmer. I am open to suggestions. Thanks for reading.

Oh dang, that sucks! I have a Hippo and I love it. It's still small (2") and it is always fun to watch. I would say get another one if you liked it so much. I think a great looking fish is a magnificent foxface. I have a regular foxface but wished I would have got a magnificent. It was my first fish though.

is your tank a reef? or a fowlr? if you have a fowlr then you can get some type of angel. like a flame angel, coral beauty.. etc..
or you can just replace your blue hippo. did you know what it died of?

edit: just read you have coral. ( you can still try the flame angel or coral beauty or lemon peel angel)

Thanks for the replies. My tank is a reef. I would love to have another hippo but my tank is a 55 and I can't upgrade just yet. I always felt bad having her because a lot of people say that a tang doesn't belong in a 55. I was thinking about a flame angel because they are so colorful. I don't know much about foxface's. Don't they get pretty big too? Thanks again!!!

foxface are venemous and look cool. so i love them :p but their sting is NOT worse than a lionfish. i dont think they get too big, maybe 5 inches but so do some clownfish. i would get a foxface they have a lot of personality and are something yellow for your tank.

I agree with Gexx, the Foxface is one of the most hardy and easy to keep fish. If you go with the Magnificant Fox Face beware that they are Huge, usually about 6 inches from the LFS. IMO. Also try a Yellow Tang.

Sorry about your loss!! I love dwarf angels, but they are hit and miss when it comes to being reef safe. But their coloring is amazing!

Sorry to hear about your tang. I just lost another clown yesterday. I have had both my clowns die in 2 months time, yet my yellow tang, flameback angel, and diamond goby are perfectly fine.

Cold has a Yellow Tang in the 55 I am taking care of for him but it will outgrow the tank in time. I would avoid Angel's as the ussually nip at coral's. He has a Pygmy Angel that I put in here and he regret's my getting it.
