A sad tale.

Thank you all for welcoming me to 3reef! I recently introduced my first 2 fish (coral beauty angel, powder brown tang) into my 120g display tank with 40 g breeder sump. The CB had 2 small white spots and you guys correctly ID'd as Marine Ich. I got called away out of state for 1 month and:
1. The ich went nuts!
2. Even with the best efforts of friends, the tang died then !
3. Power went out (due to lovely Nor'easter) and return line almost overflowed my sump (prevented by quick thinking neighbor).
4. Sump tank cracked.
5. Algae went nuts!
6. RO unit left running into collection barrel overflowed and flooded neighbors apartment (Still friends with neighbor, landlord pissed).
7. Landlord confiscated RO barrel.
8. New subm. heater leaked and broke.

Even with these recent events, I have restarted the tank, CB is hanging on I and get to go out and buy lots of new stuff!! Still grieving over the tang, though. It's a process....

Sounds like you need an ATO quickly.

Sorry you are having so many issues. When it snows.... or is that rains?

 

Wow thats really too bad. if it makes u feel any better my main tank is leaking so im getting a new one and starting over. just know you're not the only one lol. good luck!

Now after all the bad, youll know what you need to plan for, and what to do with power outages and how to handle things when your away. 2011 will be a better year!
