I am thinking about adding another filter (a very small one) for extra filtration for my 20 gallon FOWLR nano. Would this work right? What are the pros-cons?

What type of filter? HOB Mechanical? Additional water movement is never a bad thing.

I currently have an aqueon power filter. I want to add a tetra ti whisper filter(very small). The aqueon filter currently provides all filtration, but I just want a little extra.

no you'll be fine, sometimes adding new filters causes a slight bacterial bloom, but thats minor. Also if its a 20 gallon why not just throw on an aquaclear 70 and call it even! thats about the 8th time i've recommended these filters today ahahaha

More flow and filtration. I don't see any downside. Aside from the extra power cord. Why do you want to add the extra filter?
