Okay...for starters I was at DeVry University in IL. I've decided since setting up my tank, and doing research for keeks1127 tank that I AM going to be a marine biologist.

Now the question comes is where to go... I am almost dismissing TX as I would like to do some independant research as I am at school. So ATM my choices are:

FIT - Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL

Coastal Carolina in South Carolina....i forget the city

Both are very near the ocean which will make for great diving :). Has anybody heard about either school?

And I would like to thank each and every 3reef member for contributing information to this excellent hobby. I dont think there is a single post on this board that I havent read...and each day I eagerly come here to possibly help or learn more!

Quick question, are you looking into these schools for undergrad or graduate programs?

I have not heard of either of these schools. I do a bunch of diving in Hawail and I would guess they may have some good marine biology schools to look into also. If I were 10 yrs younger I would totally be doing what your doing.

University of Miami is a good choice too. A bud of mine went there for marine biology and he said it was a great program.

Find a true Marine Biologist with any money and he will have another venue to make it.. The real Dr's that are really trying to make a difference in the large ponds are making very little money. Now the ones who could not hack it in the large ponds with the big fish tend to write aquarium books they make money..and become aquarium experts.. Not practicing marine biologist. be a Veterinarian or dentist LOL Dentist make the real money and low low low insurance premiums compared to other Dr's Like G.P's and surgeons . LOL
