A sponge of some sort?

    Are you reffering to the white stringy looking things?
    If so appears to be a String type sponge.
    Harmless, i have this in my setup as well. Just be forwarned this stuff grows like crazy.
    I take my rock out once every 3 months and scrub this stuff off.

    Hi,

    I think that I have the same thing that you do. I asked about it this week and was told it was a sponge and that they are filter feeders. Good to have around. I found this site that has a picture of what I have (Scypha sponge):

    It's definitely not a scypha sponge AKA pineapple sponge.

    Looks like Halichondria bowerbanki or a similar species. Key IDs for this species; tassel growth and cream colour.
