Saturday i was visiting my somewhat local frag dealer getting my fix when i saw this wonderful, very large tomato clown in his 2o gal frag grow out tank. He had never been there on previous visits so i had to ask where he came from and why he was in so small a tank. Short story is a friends tank crashed and he did an emergency re home. Problem was there were aggression issues in all his other tanks and he did not want to loose this or other fish. The Tom was now free to a good home:eek: I have a 1 1/2 inch Clarkii hosted by a big LTA and I love both. I ve always wanted another clown but was afraid of aggression. I chose to take the risk and so far all is well!!! Im shocked. I suppose its the size difference... the Tom is 4 in and at least 5 yrs old that we know. They are not best buds yet but there has been zero chasing, harassing or another problems. Wonder if they both will use the LTA soon? Hmmmm.... I am a very happy reef keeper (for now)!!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    That is interesting.

    You got lucky for sure.

Hopefully all will remain peaceful between the two.

    Congrats

Clarkii Clowns are not peacefull by any means either and this probably explains why they haven't bothered each other as well as it being hosted by an anemone. Unfortunately there is no chance that both clowns will share the anemone.:(

Here's an update on the two clowns. About 2 days after my let posting, the tomato started hanging around the LTA... swimming above, checkin out the sides.... etc. The Clarkii dug himself in deeper and strayed from the LTA a lot less. The next day both were being hosted by the LTA. So i thought "this won't last.... someones getting kicked out." How wrong i was. There was about a half a day of chasing, if that. They now both happily reside in the LTA with the Tomato usually in the middle and the Clarkii underneath or along the edge but still inside. No chasing, arguing or even dirty looks. They both seem happy and healthy. Neither one seems too eager to leave for very long during feeding time....i suppose they don't want to give up any territory.... but so far no major issues. Im shocked!!
