So today we had the experience of visiting a wholesaler's with our local reef club, MASM- MASM Forums
Anyways, we visited A&M Aquatics up in Lansing MI. A&M really is an expert facility. I'm not saying this as a PR message for them, its really the truth. Bill goes out and researches the way each fish in an area is collected before getting the supply chain from there. No cyanide or dynamite, nets only. After the fish are shipped to his facility, they are acclimated over a period of 12 hours before being put into quarantine for 3 weeks. Only after that are they available for purchase by a LFS. They were the first to recieve a MAC certification, unfortunatly MAC is kindof done...

They have a zoologist on staff who is very knowledgable about each fish abd it's habitat. We talked a lot about snorkelbob and how his points were misleading people. The best thing he said was "You go to your LFS and buy ONE cleaner shrimp for 20$. If you go to Red Lobster, how many shrimp do you get for 20$? UNLIMITED."

Except shrimp fishing is non sustainable, as opposed to the marine hobby which is.
