Looks really nice Nemo! Welcome to 3reef and the saltwater hobby. Sounds like your future father-in-law can be a great resource for you as well if he keeps a reef. I'm not familiar with the biocubes and what they come with, but bioballs usually end up being a negative in the long run so if you can, make a refugium or replace with rock rubble. All of the other advice you got is awesome (this forum is full of knowledgeable people and great advice)! Don't hesitate to ask questions!

Nemo18 I put the rubble rock in the bottom and the plants are on top of the rubble rock in the center chamber and I use Polly-Filter material in the first chamber. My heater is in the first chamber also. The light has 2 double sided sticky tapes to hold it to the back of the tank. 2 seconds to apply.
I kept my lights on for 4-5 hours the first week of set up and increased by 1/2-1 hour weekly from there. We leave them on for 7-8 hours at this time.

FYI - I advice not getting a Lawnmower Blenny for that tank. For one, as mentioned they can get mean once adults. Two, they can be very finiky about eating prepared foods. I had one starve in my 55. Instead, I recommend a smaller omnivore blenny like a Tail Spot.
