Let's get a few things strait. I'm not a atheist but I'll explain in an atheistic point of view. Veganism is not natural, if you believe we evolved then you should know our ape ancestors were omnivores, but if your religous (like me) then you should know that (I believe) that we were told to eat meat by their God. Another thing is that ancient and modern tribes and civilizations used animal skins and bones to create weapons, clothes and other things. According to scientists and ice core samples the world is getting colder and we are going into another ice age. Even though CFCs are bad, most scientists find it hard to believe that some cans of hairspray could tear a large hole in the Ozone (that's a opinion). Having pets does not mean your some evil killer who wants to enslave animals, pets have been around since the dawn of time and have in some places been treated like gods and worshipped (mainly cats in Egypt). In Britain women would collect fish and treat them like kings because the more beautiful and unusual the fish the higher the social status for her (they even held showoff parties). During the California gold rush cats were valued because of their ability to kill vermin and miners would pay hundreds of dollars for them (by today's standards). Dogs have always been valued because of their hunting, searching and guarding abilities throughout history. Dogs and Cats have always been trusted companions of people.
These are just some of the facts but anyone is welcome to have their own opinion as long as they don't shove it down other peoples throats or insult people with different views.

Never used FB because of crazys (any kind really) and because of FBs censorship of right wing opinions and because they allow certain groups to attack other groups then not allow the victim to defend itself because FB does not agree with their views. FB is a also building a database of faces and names from people in photos even if a person in it does not use the site and are planning to hand over the info to the Government. FB is also a huge supporter of things I don't agree with. Another big reason is that a Veteran in 2012 posted something on 9/11 being a inside job and then a few days later he had a SWAT team bust through his door and arrest him for threatening the U.S. Government. He was sent to federal prison but I am not sure how long he was their though.

Be wary of any group or individual that defines themselves by what they eat, drink, root for, do for a living, etc etc. If that is all they've got, they got nothing. Stanhope does a bit on this about people who define themselves as Irish American, check it out.

What did you really expect from a FB vegan group? I am a part time vegetarian, so I understand the sentiment, and I stay well away from those crazies.

It can get especially hard when someone wants to get in the middle of it and ruin it. Example: You drink a beer to relax yourself every afternoon after work, then some protesters end up persuading the courts to outlaw drinking even if it's responsible drinking. Or some idiots want to outlaw our hobbies and attack us, it sucks that people who want to do stuff that is not bad and is responsible are being forced to quit because some people don't agree.
