yeah +1 the fungia will look better under more intense lighting, but your nutrients play a part too.

I am no light expert but you do a lot of Blue and not enough White in my opinion. The LED may provide a better spectrum.

    Hey mate,

Im not quite to sure what you mean? I have 3 white tubes and one blue?

Did you mean to say i do alot of white and not enough blue? If so, i did that on purpose. I dont like my tank to look overly blue...

i noticed corals will change color from one tank to another, esp LSP. I think it has a lot to do wtih the zooanthelia (SP???) in tanks. Still a VERY cool coral

Is it possible that the place you purchased the coral from had a different type of lighting, such as MH? Or more blue? As you said you have 3 to 1 white bulbs. Or intensity? Thus the coral coloration would slowly change in response to your lighting.

Could it even be a reaction to a difference in available calcium, PH, strontium, magnesium, iodine...?

    Just a thought.

if you think blue light colors up corals nicely, you should see what UVA does to corals ;)

You cant produce UV with t5 tho :(

Fungia looks great. I bought a fungia that was purple and blue with some green. Now it is purple rimmed with a light green background and reddish highlights on the side you can see. The backside which gets less light has a small section that retained the original coloration.
