So I have saved up enough money for 3 AI Sols (blues) which will replace my old 72" MH. My question, should I wait till Nov/Dec time frame to see if the prices will go down due to the holidays (heck even if it is only a couple bucks, I will wait!) or buy now? Or will there be something coming out that I should hold out for?

I will be starting with and only have beginner type corals. I want to make sure that I can take care of the easier corals (learn the process, know what to look for, see what I am doing right/wrong to be able to correct it down the road etc.) before jumping in and buying something expensive.

    Thoughts and/or Suggestions?

    Thanks

The only reason they recently got cheaper is to compete with the EcoTech Radion. I highly doubt we'll see another price drop on them anytime soon.

I think you mean, about to "pull the plug" on MH's and "pull the trigger" on LED's :)

Unless these are price locked at how low the can sell for, vendors are for sure going to be having sales going on during the holidays.

Pretty sure last year Marine Depot has a big sale for Black Friday. A few other did too, I believe. I'd wait.

Edit: forgot MD doesn't even sell AI...

I can't speak for the holidays but I know I just bought some AIs and the company I bought them from wouldn't even let me put a 5% coupon I got from them for being a new customer towards the lights because of the big price drop. I don't know if the price is AI policy or just the company I went through, just sharing my experience :) Plus, from what they told me on a follow up call, they can barely keep them in stock (I had to wait a week for mine to ship out) so from a business viewpoint, why lower the price if the demand is high anyways? I'd say prices won't be moving, go with a site you can get free shipping and save some money there.

Thanks for the responses. I may wait till Thanksgiving only because it is a month away. If the companies have a holiday discount, great! and if not then I get an early christmas present :)
