Damsels seem to get mean when they get larger. Clowns it somewhat depends on the type. Maroon Clowns can get ornery!

i think a tank bred false clown is great and nice as heck! I would def research what fish i wanted before getting them, trust me! you can have my 2 yellowtails for free, ya just have to come and catch them!lol!

As others have said, take some time and get a little more than you think you need! This hobby is addicting and although you think you may want a basic mini reef, as you grow, you may find ya want a little more than that and then you have to upgrade the lights, skimmer etc! Trust me, i have alot of cash worth of equipment sitting in boxes that are too little/not enough power etc for what i have now!

i'd get a hydor slim skim
def don't skimp on lights! look into some led options!
    maybe a hob refugium
get a refractometer, not the cheap plastic hydrometer
def a RODI unit, that is not an option really unless you wanna battle algae, my lesson is learned!
    a cuc from reefcleaners
and i love the hydor koralia circulation pumps! quiet and cheap $25ish

good luck! these people are awesome on here!

Def start off with RODI water! I made my mistake there... I have the 3 stripped damsels and I added a TR clown about 3 months after and they don't mess with the clown. I will say the stripped damsels did kill the smaller one, so I am down to just two of them.
